Blue Jays vs. White Sox: Tuesday’s Top Same-Game Parlay Picks

A nine-game win streak for the Toronto Blue Jays is their longest since 2015. Coming off an 8-4 win Monday, the first-place squad carries its sparkling week into the second game on the road against the Chicago White Sox.

These are our favorite bets for the White Sox versus the Blue Jays on July 8!

Leg 1: Addison Barger OVER 0.5 HRs, +320

Addison Barger is one of the hottest hitters in the Blue Jays’ lineup during their nine-game win streak. He continued his excellent play into game one of the series, and we’re counting on him to keep it going in game two.

Over his last 11 games, Barger has put up eight extra-base hits, including four homers. One of those homers came in Monday’s game. Barger’s Baseball Savant page is showing red nearly across the board, as he’s in the 88th percentile or higher in average exit velocity, barrel percentage, and hard hit percentage.

For this game, he’s set to face right-hander Aaron Civale, and Barger has mashed against righties this season with an .888 OPS and 12 home runs. This could be a specifically advantageous matchup for the second-year major leaguer. All but one of his home runs this season were pulled to right field, while over 26 percent of Civale’s batted balls against are pulled into the air.

A hot hitter against a flyball pitcher is an indication that we might see another long ball for Barger. A home run for him lands as our first leg.

Leg 2: George Springer OVER 0.5 SB +680

George Springer‘s age and previous injury issues aren’t showing this year, which is great to see, as he’s having a resurgent season and isn’t afraid to take risks for the extra 90 feet.

Springer is two games removed from a 15-game on-base streak in which he stole three bases in three attempts. On the season, he’s 10-for-10 on stolen base attempts. If he gets on in a late-game situation with the Jays down in a close game, he surely could be trying for an extra bag against rookie catcher Kyle Teel.

Furthermore, projected Civale does not bring the velocity or quick delivery that would defend against stolen bases. While no one has stolen off him this year, his tempo with runners on is down significantly from what it was at the beginning of his career.

The Blue Jays’ leadoff man has been on a roll, and with the team rolling on this win streak, Springer provides excellent value to keep his streak on the basepaths alive.

Leg 3: Aaron Civale OVER 3.5 strikeouts +114

Getting four or more strikeouts shouldn’t be an issue against the Blue Jays, with him averaging 6.9 strikeouts per nine innings through nine starts.

He’s hit four strikeouts or more in six of his nine starts this year, doing that in three out of his four starts since joining the White Sox from Milwaukee. He’s had much more strikeout success with his offspeed pitches this year, as he leans heavily on using a cutter within a seven-pitch mix. His split finger is his typical putaway pitch, recording Ks on a third of two-strike usages this season. Meanwhile, the Jays have struck out at least four times in each of the last 10 games. Plus, typically, when a team has been hot lately, they tend to swing more with that extra confidence, especially with a lack of overall velocity coming at them.

We’re including Civale as our third and final pick in tonight’s same game parlay. At +144, we’re betting he sits down at least four Blue Jays hitters by way of the strikeout.

Blue Jays @ White Sox: July 8 SGP Picks

  • Addison Barger to hit a home run +320
  • George Springer to steal a base +680
  • Aaron Civale 4+ strikeouts +114

This triplet could net bettors a flashy +7791 return. We’re parlaying a home run from Addison Barger, a steal from George Springer, and Aaron Civale to strike out four or more.
