Red Sox vs. Yankees: Sunday Night Baseball Same Game Parlay

We’ve got another classic rivalry showdown on Sunday Night Baseball. This time, the New York Yankees conclude a three-game set versus the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees took the series opener, with the Red Sox exacting revenge on Saturday night. That sets tonight’s showdown up as the deciding rubber match between these high-octane AL East rivals.

These are the bets we’re making for our Sunday Night Baseball Same Game Parlay!

Red Sox vs. Yankees: Sunday Night Baseball Same Game Parlay

Leg 1: Under 8 -115

Where to Watch Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees

  • Ballpark: Yankee Stadium
  • Location: New York, NY
  • Where to Watch: ESPN
  • Time: 7:10 p.m. ET
  • Spread: NYY -1.5 | Total: 8
  • Moneyline: NYY -230 | BOS +190

Runs have been plentiful early in this series, but we’re anticipating a more subdued performance in the series finale. The Yankees send ace Carlos Rodon to the bump, with the Bo Sox countering with Hunter Dobbins. Both pitchers should be effective at limiting the opponent’s bats.

Rodon continues to dazzle every time he’s on the mound. The deceiving lefty ranks in the 90th percentile in expected ERA, which is reflected in his actual mark of 2.49. Moreover, he uses his five-pitch arsenal to rate as one of the top strikeout arms in the bigs. Rodon induces 31.3% chase and 32.3% whiff rates, contributing to a sterling 32.3% strikeout percentage.

While Dobbins isn’t on the same level as Rodon, he has been effective over his recent sample. Across his last 16.2 innings pitched, the righty has struck out 14 batters while limiting three of four opponents to two or fewer earned runs.

Offense reigned supreme early in this series, but we’re betting on a change of pace on Sunday night. Both starting pitchers should be at their best, and their bullpens should be up to the task in later innings. Under 8 is the play.

Leg 2: Carlos Rodon Over 7.5 Strikeouts +105

As noted, Rodon is one of the premier strikeout pitchers in the majors. We expect that quality to shine against a free-swinging Red Sox team.

Rodon has been at his best across his recent sample. He has punched out 26 over his last 20.0 innings pitched for a Cy Young-worthy 11.7 K/9 rate. Further, 66.0% of his 303 pitches have gone for strikes, leaving batters no choice but to try and catch up with his fastball-slider combination.

Rodon’s hunt for more than 7.5 strikeouts will be made easier by the Red Sox’s undisciplined approach at the plate. So far this season, Boston has accumulated the second-most strikeouts in the MLB, ranking behind only the lowly Colorado Rockies. Their worst work comes versus lefties, where they walk back to the dugout 26.8% of the time.

Given his elite form and the Red Sox’s reckless approach at the plate, we can’t look past the value on the over on Rodon’s strikeout prop.

Leg 3: Jazz Chisholm Jr. Over 0.5 Stolen Bases +350

Base stealing is all the rage these days, and the Yankees have one of the premier baserunners in the game. Jazz Chisholm Jr. is a prime candidate to nab a bag on Sunday Night Baseball.

A right oblique strain kept Chisholm out of the lineup for over a month, but the shifty baserunner made his triumphant return to the lineup this past week. Chisholm returned to the order on June 3 and has been a menace ever since.

Across the modest five-game sample, he’s toting a 1.222 OPS while getting on base eight times over that stretch. Further, Chisholm has used those additional baserunning opportunities to steal three bags over his last three games.

The Red Sox are one of the worst teams in the league at defending against base stealing. They give up the seventh-most steals in the bigs, a number that has climbed to 1.7 over their last three games. Expect that trend to persist against the Yankees, with Chisholm adding to his stolen base tally at home.

Red Sox vs. Yankees: Sunday Night Baseball Same Game Parlay Picks: Under 8, Rodon Over 7.5 Ks, Chisholm Jr. Over 0.5 Stolen Bases (+1075)

Runs should be at a premium on Sunday Night Baseball, playing into Rodon’s continued dominance on the mound. Parlaying the under, with the over on Rodon’s strikeout prop and Chisholm’s proficiency on the basepaths could net bettors a hefty return of +1075.
