Leg 1: Brewers Moneyline +108
In a game like this, I generally like to lean toward the home team when they are getting plus money. The Brewers showed they won’t be bullied by the Big Bad Blue with a 9-1 win in the series opener last night, and I’m banking on Milwaukee to continue the Dodgers’ losing streak.
LA comes in losers of four straight games, and while tonight’s starter, Clayton Kershaw, may seem like a slump buster, maybe not so much against the Brew Crew. Milwaukee has hit lefties well all year to the tune of .253, eighth best in baseball. They also sport at .701 OPS (11th) and .324 OBP (7th) against southpaws. While the Brewers are by no means an offensive juggernaut, they did put up nearly a 10-spot in the opener, putting them in the top 10 in runs scored over the past two weeks, and have hit LHP well all year.
While LA will have many of the usual suspects like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith in the lineup, their offense is quite banged up. Teoscar Hernandez has missed two straight and is expected to only be available off the bench tonight. Tommy Edman has also missed LA’s past two games and is unlikely to start, while Max Muncy is out for six weeks due to a knee issue.
Milwaukee’s starter, Jacob Misiorowski, gets a bit of a break with the injuries, but LA is still a dangerous team. That said, the Brewers rookie has looked good so far in his short MLB career. Misiorowski brings a 3-1 mark with a 3.20 ERA and 0.92 WHIP into tonight’s start. He also has 21 Ks in 19 innings in 2025. The first-year hurler sports stellar advanced metrics with an xBA of .172, xSLG of .292, and xwOBACON of .291. While he may have his hands full, Misiorowski’s hands also produce an average fastball velocity of 99.2 MPH, which puts him in the top two percent of MLB pitchers. LA’s unfamiliarity with the 23-year-old pitcher may also play into his favor tonight.
I like Milwaukee to take advantage of a slumping, banged-up Dodgers team tonight and pick up another win.

Leg 2: Christian Yelich 2+ Bases -105
After having his 2024 cut short because of season-ending back surgery, Christian Yelich has bounced back in a big way in 2025. Yelich leads the Brewers in OPS (.793), home runs (18), RBI (63), and is second in total bases (150). He also hit a two-run home run last night against LA. It wasn’t the first time the Brewers slugger had success against the Dodgers.
Yelich has hit LA to the tune of .314 over the course of his career. During that 12-year, 46-game span, Yelich has 61 hits, 21 of them for extra bases, including 12 home runs. The former NL MVP sports a .552 SLG and .939 OPS lifetime against LA.
Not only has Yelich hit the Dodgers well, but he’s hit one of their longest-tenured players well. The long-time Brewer has bested the long-time Dodger to the tune of a .281 BA and .500 SLG. In 36 plate appearances, Yelich has nine hits, three for extra bases, including two home runs, to go along with four walks in his career against Kershaw.
Diving into some of Yelich’s advanced metrics, it’s easy to see he hits the ball the way it was meant to be hit. The 33-year-old has an average exit velocity of 91 MPH to go along with a bat speed of 73.3 MPH, both in the top 30 percent of baseball. Even more impressive is his hard hit rate of 48.5%, which puts him in the top 19 percent of MLB hitters this season.
With hits in six straight and in 16 of his past 17 games, I expect Yelich to continue swinging a hot stick for Milwaukee and cash out two bags.
Leg 3: Shohei Ohtani Home Run +200
While I generally stick to picking legs with odds around even, I feel like Ohtani is due to go deep, and what better time than tonight? Ohtani has been going through a bit of a power slump, with no home runs in his past six games. During that stretch, Shohei has just three hits, and none have gone for extra bases. Tonight, the slump ends with some yardwork.
Ohtani’s numbers are again off the charts this season. The former Los Angeles Angel leads the National League with 30 home runs and a .991 OPS. He also boasts a Senior Circuit-best .609 slugging percentage to go along with a .382 OBP. Shohei’s advanced metrics are even more eye-popping. The Japanese superstar has an average exit velocity of 94.7 MPH, which puts him in the top one percent of baseball. His barrel rate (21.1%), hard hit rate (59.8%) and xSLG (.636) all land in the top two percent of the league. An xwOBA of .423 also puts Ohtani in the top one percent of hitters this season.
While Ohtani has never faced off with Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski, you have to think it will be a bit of a surreal moment for the rookie. He also may be thinking about the three home runs he’s already allowed in four starts. If it qualified, Misiorowski’s launch angle of 16.6 would rank him in the top 25 for highest launch angles, so he does have the profile for allowing balls to get air.
I see Shohei busting out of his slump in a big way on national television tonight and circling the pillows to cash this leg.
