Leg 1: Yankees Over 5.5 Runs (-113)
It’s extremely rare to see the Yankees shut out two games in a row at home, but that is exactly what the Angels were able to accomplish in the first two games of this series. LA got seven scoreless innings from Jose Soriano during Monday’s 1-0 win, which was followed up with six shutout frames from Kyle Hendricks in a 4-0 Angels victory last night. It’s only the second time in history that New York has been shut out in consecutive games at new Yankee Stadium, after the Toronto Blue Jays did it in the Bronx in 2015.
In fact, New York’s cold bats extend beyond this series with the Angels. The Yankees tied a franchise low after being shut out for the third consecutive game on Tuesday night. Before the set with LA, New York dropped a road game to the Boston Red Sox, 2-0, on Sunday. The scoreless streak sits at 28 innings coming into tonight.
Point is, the Yankees’ offense is due.
New York leads the AL with a .784 OPS and in runs, putting up 5.14 per game. The Bronx Bombers also lead the Junior Circuit in home runs at home and are eighth in runs scored in their friendly confines.
The Yankees have the opportunity to tee off on a struggling pitcher with an ERA approaching six. Jack Kochanowicz has failed to get out of the fifth inning in each of his past three starts, allowing 10 earned runs over that stretch. Kochanowicz is allowing opponents to hit nearly .300 and has struggled with control, allowing 33 walks in 71 innings.
New York got a positive injection to the offense this week as Giancarlo Stanton returned on Monday. While he didn’t help the Yanks cash any runs, he went 4-for-8 with a double. With 27 home runs last year and over 425 in his career, Stanton immediately adds power to the middle of the lineup.
Tonight, the Yankees’ bats put it all together.

Leg 2: Aaron Judge RBI (-145)
If I’ve learned anything watching baseball the past decade, especially those in pinstripes, it’s that you can’t keep Aaron Judge down. Yes, the ultimate Bronx Bomber has been slumping a bit lately, with just one hit in his past 15 at-bats. Over that four-game span, Judge has nine strikeouts to go along with zero runs and zero RBI. Cue the turnaround.
Having Stanton back in the lineup should provide some protection for Judge, with another bat in the lineup that can change things quickly with one swing. While the Yankees’ offense has been good, it has lacked depth in the power department. Stanton’s return helps everybody, including Judge.
While the hulking outfielder hasn’t seen Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz much, he does have a hit off him in limited opportunities. In three plate appearances against Kochanowicz, Judge has a single and a base on balls.
On the season, Judge leads the league with a ridiculous 1.209 OPS to go along with an MLB-best .372 batting average, while tied for the most RBI in the American League with 60. The Yankees superstar also impresses with an elite .454 batting average on balls in play. Judge’s advanced stats are in line with his traditional ones, sitting in the 100th percentile in xwOBA (.459), xSLG (.714), and barrel% (24.3). The 33-year-old continually hits the ball hard, ranking in the 99th percentile with an average exit velocity of 95.3 MPH to go along with a hard-hit percentage of 55.6, which ranks in the 97th percentile of all MLB players.
Judge breaks out of his mini-slump tonight. While we’ll go with an RBI for our SGP, his home run prop at +200 is worth a look.
Leg 3: Ryan Yarborough Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+108)
The Angels are not an offensive juggernaut. LA ranks 27th in baseball with a .227 team batting average, which goes hand in hand with their 9.8 strikeouts per game, the second-most in MLB. The Angels are also dead last in the league with a laughable .287 OBP.
While Ryan Yarbrough is by no means a blow-you-away kind of pitcher, he has shown a burst of K power as a starter this season. The Yankees hurler has gone over this number in his past three starts, where he’s gone at least five innings. Yarborough has reached five in four of his past six starts, and just missed hitting the fifth frame going 4.2 in his last start, despite allowing just one earned run.
Los Angeles has seen Yarbrough this season, and it did not go well for them. The former Tampa Bay Ray had his best start of the season against the Angels on May 26. Yarborough went six strong, allowing just two hits, one run, and most importantly for our purposes, a road season-best seven Ks.
Expect LA’s bats to struggle tonight, as the Yankees look to salvage the series finale, behind a strong starting pitching performance from Yarbrough.
