The Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds wrap up a three-game series from the Great American Ball Park on Wednesday; probable pitchers are Shohei Ohtani and Nick Martinez.

Ohtani has revved up his action on the mound, throwing three innings in each of his past two starts. Overall, he’s allowed only two earned runs in 2025, but the Dodger bullpen behind him shows a collective 4.29 ERA: a bottom-five clip in the National League.

Across the way, Martinez has been blitzed for 20 earned runs over his last five appearances (three of which have been at home). His 4.41 xFIP fails to impress at this point, and he’ll likely have a tough time against mighty Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The weather in Cincy has been scorching hot, and this evening will be no different. Those balmy conditions should play favorably for both lineups inside a known hitter’s park (GABP has a 103 Park Factor score, per Baseball Savant). For reference, the Dodgers are plating an MLB-high 5.24 runs per game this season while the Reds are respectable at 4.54 runs per game.

It’s over 9.5 runs for me. This should be a fun game to watch; expect batted balls to have tremendous carry.

Best Bet: Over 9.5 (-110)

Where to Watch Seattle Mariners vs. Athletics

  • Ballpark: Sutter Health Park
  • Location: Sacramento, CA
  • Where to Watch: RSNW, NBCSCA, MLBN
  • Time: 10:05 p.m. ET
  • Spread: SEA -1.5 (+110) | Total: 9.5 (-115/-105)
  • Moneyline: SEA -148 | ATH +126

Out in California’s capital city, I have my eye on an AL-West bid between the Athletics and Seattle Mariners. The projected starters for Wednesday are RHP Bryan Woo and LHP Jeffrey Springs.

In this matchup, I much prefer Woo going against his former hometown team. Woo — an All-Star for the first time this season — is having his best MLB campaign to date behind a 3.46 FIP and 0.95 WHIP. Meanwhile, Springs shows a 4.70 FIP/1.20 WHIP.

To this point in the year, the Mariners have displayed a little more pop when taking on left-handed pitching (.411 SLG vs. .408 SLG). I believe Seattle can take advantage of that on another warm evening in the Central Valley.

The M’s and A’s have split the previous two games in Sacramento. Further back, Seattle is 5-4 against the Athletics in 2025. In three of five of those wins for the Mariners, they have covered the run line. I see that coming to fruition again tonight!

Best Bet: Mariners -1.5 (+110)
