MLB Best Bets Today: Monday’s Top 3 Betting Picks

Where to Watch Toronto Blue Jays vs. Chicago White Sox

  • Ballpark: Rate Field
  • Location: Chicago, IL
  • Where to Watch: Sportsnet, CHSN
  • Time: 7:40 p.m. ET
  • Spread: TOR -1.5 (+102) | Total: 8.5 (-112/-108)
  • Moneyline: TOR -168 | CWS +142

Following Independence Day weekend, the hottest side around Major League Baseball comes from north of the border: the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays winners of their past eight contests will start a three-game series at the Chicago White Sox on Monday. The projected starters are RHP José Berríos and Sean Burke. Notably, Chicago’s South Siders have been one of the most offensively challenged groups in the American League, displaying a dismal .642 team OPS.

Meanwhile, Toronto has been bruising the rawhide since June 24. Throughout that 13-game span, the Jays have gone 11-2 while producing 5.92 runs per contest. In that same split, they have plated a double-digit run total in three separate outings.

When looking at the overall campaign, both the Blue Jays and ChiSox have been two of the top runline teams in 2025; Toronto has covered in 58.9% of action this year, which is the second-best clip in MLB (trailing only the Miami Marlins at 59.1%).

The Jays should be in line for a favorable matchup against Burke, who shows a 4.70 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) per FanGraphs. Toronto has already launched 74 home runs against RHP this season. They’ve also compiled a collective .728 OPS versus righties. With that, I like TOR -1.5 on Monday at The Rateespecially with a plus-money (+102 odds) pricing.

Best Bet: Blue Jays -1.5 (+102)

Where to Watch Cleveland Guardians vs. Houston Astros

  • Ballpark: Daikin Park
  • Location: Houston, TX
  • Where to Watch: CLEG, SCHN
  • Time: 8:10 p.m. ET
  • Spread: HOU -1.5 (+162) | Total: 7.5 (-105/-115)
  • Moneyline: CLE +116 | HOU -136

With seven games until the All-Star break, the Cleveland Guardians are struggling mightily. They have come up short in each of their past 10 outings. Going slightly further back, Cleveland is an atrocious 3-13 since June 19.

Monday will be new surroundings for the Guardians as they travel to the Houston Astros. Across the way, Houston is returning home to Daikin Park after handily sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chavez Ravine. Simply, the ‘Stros are entering this series with the utmost confidence while Cleveland is desperately trying to correct their flaws.

The probable pitchers in Houston are Tanner Bibee and lefty Colton Gordon. Both hurlers are operating with sub-4.40 ERAs, but it should be noted that the Guardians have been poor against southpaw arms in 2025. To this point, Cleveland shows team figures of .217 BA/.607 OPS over 992 chances versus LHP.

Given the polarity of momentum in this series, I am leaning on this contest to simply “knock one down." Labeled with -136 moneyline odds, I see the AL West-leading Astros claiming victory on Monday.

Best Bet: Astros -136

Where to Watch Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels

  • Ballpark: Angel Stadium
  • Location: Anaheim, CA
  • Where to Watch: RSN, FDSNW
  • Time: 9:38 p.m. ET
  • Spread: TEX -1.5 | Total: 7.5
  • Moneyline: TEX -138 | LAA +118

For our last game to target on July 7, I am eyeing a divisional tilt in Southern California between the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels.

Respectively, the Rangers and Angels are both struggling this year. Texas’ bats have been especially passive, scoring just 3.78 runs per game in 2025—that is the American League’s fourth-lowest rate. From there, the under has gone 57-32-1 in contests that the Rangers have played in, which is good for an MLB-best 64% under conversion clip (per TeamRankings).

With that in mind, Monday night in Anaheim will feature a pitching matchup between Jacob deGrom and Yusei Kikuchi. In the current campaign, deGrom (9-2) has regained form while posting 8.88 strikeouts per nine innings. He also has the luxury of operating with a talented bullpen behind him; Texas’ relief unit features a dazzling 3.33 ERA.

Conversely, Kikuchi is performing well behind a 1.38 WHIP in 18 starts. His 3-6 record is not accurately indicative of his overall 2025 performance, but he has been noticeably better when pitching at home. At Angel Stadium, Kikuchi has surrendered a .205 BA to opposing hitters this year.

I am under 7.5 total runs (-110 odds) for this AL West romp on the outskirts of Disneyland. There are frustrated lineups on hand in combination with quality arms on the hill.

Best Bet: Under 7.5 runs -110

MLB Best Bets Friday’s Top Picks:

  • Blue Jays -1.5 (+102)
  • Astros -136
  • Rangers-Angels Under 7.5 runs (-110)

This Monday kicks off the final week before MLB’s Midsummer Classic. With that, we’re here to set a profitable tone via wagers on the moneyline, runline, and total.
