This Friday brings us a rematch of the 2018 World Series when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox get together at Fenway Park. Projected starters for the opener are righties Brayan Bello and Emmet Sheehan.

The Red Sox are coming home after a two-city road trip. It should be noted that Boston has not lost a home game since July 2, resulting in seven consecutive wins at Fenway.

Los Angeles makes the cross-country trip after losing four of six games since the All-Star break. Sheehan — who has thrown just 16.1 innings in 2025 — is working with a 1.35 WHIP while allowing a .266 batting average to opposing hitters. Behind Sheehan, the Dodgers’ bullpen has struggled this year, showcasing a 4.43 ERA, which is fourth-worst in the National League.

Conversely, Bello (3.23 ERA) is pitching quite well. He operates efficiently, sporting a 51.4% ground-ball rate at the moment, according to FanGraphs. Additionally, Bello has not surrendered more than three earned runs in a start since May 18.

Both ball clubs boast potent lineups, but the BoSox have really been bruising the rawhide in home games; they show a .798 team OPS over 52 contests at Fenway this season. With that, I love Boston’s moneyline listing of +104 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Best Bet: Red Sox ML (+104)

Where to Watch New York Mets vs. San Francisco Giants

  • Ballpark: Oracle Park
  • Location: San Francisco, CA
  • Where to Watch: WPIX, NBCSBA
  • Time: 10:15 p.m. ET
  • Spread: SF -1.5 (+152) | Total: 7.5 (-105/-114)
  • Moneyline: NYM +116 | SF -134

Back in the Golden State, the San Francisco Giants are returning to the ballpark by the bay for a three-game series with the New York Mets.

Friday should present a formidable pitcher’s duel between the two sides. The Giants will hand the ball to staff-ace Logan Webb while the Mets are sending out Clay Holmes.

Webb has been masterful in 2025. To this point, he’s compiled a 4.83 strikeout-to-walk ratio, which is the second-best clip of his MLB career. From there, Webb’s 2.58 FIP is ultra impressive.

Across the way, Holmes has performed strongly in his first campaign with the Amazins. Staying on brand, he has produced a 55.5% ground-ball clip; that should play well versus a team in San Francisco that is hitting into 0.68 double plays per game (seventh-most in the Senior Circuit).

The Giants’ lineup has performed better over their past two outings, but overall, this team — currently featuring a .681 OPS at Oracle Park struggles to score runs.

With quality arms and solid bullpens on hand at a pitcher’s venue (96 Park Factor score from Baseball Savant), under 7.5 total runs gives me comfort on “Orange" Friday by McCovey Cove.

Best Bet: Under 7.5 (-114)
