Dodgers vs. Giants Same Game Parlay: Friday, July 11

Few matchups across any sport exude the animosity of the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. For decades, these teams have been at each other’s throats. It’s only appropriate that these hated rivals head into the All-Star Break with a classic showdown at Oracle Park. The series victor leaves their competitor on the canvas for a 10-count and steals all the momentum going into the unofficial second half of the season.

The Giants are out in front on the betting front, but don’t overlook the value on the Dodgers on Friday night!

Where to Watch Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants

  • Ballpark: Oracle Park
  • Location: San Francisco, CA
  • Where to Watch: NBCS-BA, SportsNet LA, MLBN
  • Time: 10:15 p.m. ET
  • Spread: SF -1.5 | Total: 7.5
  • Moneyline: SF -130 | LAD +110

Leg 1: Dodgers +110

San Francisco sends its ace out to the bump for the series opener on Friday night. Logan Webb has been dealing of late, but he’s poised for a letdown versus the Dodgers.

Webb has thrown eight straight quality starts; however, his supporting metrics are starting to erode. Specifically, he has given up at least seven hits in three of his last four while walking three or more in two of three. Altogether, that puts him at a 1.21 WHIP across the four-game sample.

Moreover, the right-handers’ analytics profile points toward impending regression. Webb is currently operating above his expected ERA. His 2.62 ERA is a half-run lower than his expected value of 3.19. Inevitably, more runs will be scored by the opposition as those metrics balance out.

Inarguably, the Dodgers are one of the premier teams at cashing runs. Considering Webb’s inability to limit baserunners and his anticipated regression, we’re taking a firm stance on the Dodgers.

Leg 2: Andy Pages to Record 2+ Bases +135

The Dodgers’ big three continue to do damage atop the batting order. However, this team wouldn’t be the World Series favorite without its supporting cast. Several other players can step up on any given night, but we like Andy Pages‘ chances of being a hero in San Francisco.

July hasn’t been kind to Pages, but he starts his trek back up toward career norms versus the Giants. Over his last nine games, the Dodgers’ centerfielder is batting .212 with a .611 OPS. That puts him below his season-long benchmark of .807, implying that Pages is a prime progression candidate.

Pages is one of the best in the majors at squaring up pitches. He ranks in the 88th percentile in launch angle squared-up rate, teeing up offerings 39.2% of the time.

Webb is getting knocked around recently, and Pages will contribute to those recent woes. We’re backing the young slugger to record two or more bases on Friday night.

Leg 3: Will Smith to Record an RBI +170

Low-key, Will Smith is one of the most underappreciated superstars in baseball. The Dodgers’ catcher has been hovering around a 1.000 OPS this season. Still, his recent efforts support that it’s just a matter of time before he reaches that lofty benchmark.

Smith is tearing the seams off the baseball these days. Since the start of the month, Smith as a mind-numbing 1.330 OPS. Included in that sample are three multi-hit outings and two home runs, albeit with just two RBI.

Undoubtedly, Smith is poised for a sharp increase in run production. He usually bats in the heart of the order. Given the Dodgers’ ability to get runners on base, inevitably, he will have more opportunities to drive in runs.

Smith’s RBI price doesn’t reflect his current hot-hitting status or his run-producing metrics. On that basis, we’re making a sharp play and backing him to drive in a run versus the Giants.

Dodgers vs. Giants Same Game Parlay Picks

  • Dodgers +110
  • Andy Pages to Record 2+ Bases +135
  • Will Smith to Record an RBI +170

Parlaying all three picks could return bettors a +640 payout. We’re taking the correlated approach, backing the Dodgers to win, Andy Pages to record two or more bases, and Will Smith to drive in a run.
