Just Missed – Jarren Duran, Red Sox

Jarren Duran’s all-around game had him neck-and-neck in the running for the Bronze. He finished top five in SLG, OPS, RBI, ISO, and OBP, while walking nearly 13% of the time. The Boston Red Sox fans are seeing him blossom into a legitimate impact bat.

Bronze Medal Hitter – Salvador Perez, Royals
July Stats: 96 PA, 9 HR, 14 R, 21 RBI, .337/.379/.719, 0 SB, 196 wRC+, 1.3 fWAR
Salvador Perez’s vintage power stroke was back in July, ranking second in SLG, OPS (1.098), and third in ISO and wRC+. He tied for third in RBI, hit sixth in AVG, and landed seventh in total hits.
After a season-long slump, Perez’s return to form was one of the month’s most underappreciated storylines for the Kansas City Royals. At 35, he showed he can still be one of the AL’s most dangerous hitters over a hot stretch.

Silver Medal Hitter – George Springer, Blue Jays
July Stats: 102 PA, 7 HR, 24 R, 17 RBI, .371/.451/.640, 3 SB, 204 wRC+, 1.3 fWAR
At 35, George Springer is proving that age is just a number. Changing his approach to hunt for more power rather than simply getting on base has rejuvenated his bat. The Toronto Blue Jays outfielder tied for second in runs scored, ranked second in AVG and wRC+, and was third in hits for the month.
Even with a concussion IL stint, Springer’s July was a reminder that “Unc” still has it. His resurgence has been a critical boost to the Blue Jays’ lineup as they push for an AL Wild Card spot.
Gold Medal Hitter – Nick Kurtz, Athletics
July Stats: 101 PA, 11 HR, 24 R, 27 RBI, .395/.480/.953, 2 SB, 281 wRC+, 2.4 fWAR
Nick Kurtz didn’t just have a great month — he had one of the best in baseball history. The Athletics rookie first baseman, who is now the runaway favorite for AL ROY (-7000), slugged four home runs in a single game against Houston and finished July leading the AL in HR, AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, wRC+, and fWAR. He also ranked second in runs, RBI, and hits.
In just 71 games and 293 plate appearances this season, Kurtz has already rocketed to the top of the Rookie of the Year conversation. Dominating every statistical category in July, he proved he’s not just the AL’s best hitter of the month — he was baseball’s best.

Just Missed – Garrett Crochet, Red Sox
July Stats: 4-0 (4 GS), 1.73 ERA, 26 IP, 31 K, 6 BB, 0.9 fWAR
Garrett Crochet’s electric left arm keeps him among the AL’s strikeout leaders, with a top-three ERA and FIP for July. If he had made a fifth start, he might’ve landed on the podium. Expect to see his name in contention again next month.
Bronze Medal Pitcher – Noah Cameron, Royals
July Stats: 3-0 (5 GS), 1.84 ERA, 29.1 IP, 33 K, 5 BB, 0.9 fWAR
The rookie lefty was a revelation, ranking fourth in ERA, tied for fourth in strikeouts, and sixth in K/9. Noah Cameron's poise on the mound and ability to navigate lineups like a seasoned vet make him a breakout arm to watch down the stretch.
Silver Medal Pitcher – Luis Castillo, Mariners
July Stats: 4-1 (5 GS), 2.05 ERA, 30.2 IP, 32 K, 4 BB, 1.4 fWAR
Luis Castillo quietly put together an elite month for the Seattle Mariners, leading the AL in FIP (1.70) and HR/9 (0.00) while finishing in the top three in BB/9. Four of his five starts featured six-plus strikeouts, including an eight-punchout gem against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
